Secci Gallery is set to present a solo exhibition by Irish artist Kevin Francis Gray, opening on April 8, 2025, at Secci Milano (Via Olmetto 1). On view from April 9 to June 14, 2025, the exhibition will feature Gray’s latest series, Fragile Heads.
Inspired by the artist’s visit to Istanbul, Fragile Heads Series consists of colorful porcelain works influenced by traditional İznik ceramics. The series showcases glazed porcelain busts set on custom-designed wooden bases. Known for his mastery of marble, Gray shifts to porcelain, an inherently delicate and unpredictable material, to challenge conventional sculptural norms.
Blending traditional sculptural techniques with contemporary material exploration, Gray embraces the cracks and deformations that naturally occur during production, making them an integral part of the work. This approach invites reflection on themes of identity, resilience, and fragility.
Fragile Heads Series is also a key part of Gray’s upcoming solo exhibition at PİLEVNELİ, his first in Turkey, running from April 24 to May 31, 2025.
