The exhibition “Johan Creten. Jouer avec le Feu”, held at the Musée des Beaux-Arts d’Orléans from March 23 to September 22, 2024, has come to an end. However, the artist’s large-scale sculptures in public spaces will remain on display until December 7, 2025, allowing visitors to continue exploring his work throughout the city.
Among these, two striking pieces created specifically for the exhibition, La Mouche Morte (Dead Fly) and La Grande Sauterelle (The Big Grasshopper), stand out. These monumental sculptures not only captivate with their imposing presence but also provoke thought on ecology and the fragility of nature.
Transforming Orléans’ squares, parks, and historic sites into an open-air museum, these sculptures are a testament to Creten’s approach to integrating art into public spaces. For those who missed the exhibition or wish to revisit these impressive works, the city still offers a unique artistic journey.
