The Guggenheim Bilbao will host Refik Anadol’s architectural and multisensory work from March 7 to October 19, 2025. As the first artist in the museum’s newly launched “in situ” exhibition series, Anadol will present his site-specific artificial intelligence-driven works to the audience. The exhibition aims to reshape perceptions of the physical world, public art, and the boundaries of creativity.
Refik Anadol’s exhibition at the Guggenheim Bilbao will not only be an exhibition but also a production process. “In situ” refers to creating the artwork specifically for the space where it will be displayed, and this will be a first for Guggenheim Bilbao. Anadol expands the interdisciplinary boundaries of art by radically visualizing our digital memories through AI-assisted data sculptures and visual installations.
2025 will be a significant year for Anadol, not only because of this exhibition but also with the opening of his DATALAND project in Los Angeles. Housed in The Grand LA, this project aims to offer a new experience at the intersection of AI and art as the world’s first artificial intelligence art museum.
Refik Anadol has already achieved great success by exhibiting at MoMA in New York, one of the world’s leading modern art museums. With this exhibition at the Guggenheim Bilbao, he will become the first Turkish artist to make a mark in art history. Having also showcased his works at Serpentine, one of London’s key centers for modern art, Anadol is solidifying his place as one of the pioneers of AI art with this upcoming exhibition.
