PILEVNELI is pleased to announce the participation to the 8th Edition of Artweeks @Akaretler.
The Artweeks@Akaretler PİLEVNELİ presentation, which will take place between November 3-16, will feature works by Refik Anadol, Banu Anka, Wim Delvoye, Ali Elmacı, Tim Kent, Daniel Knorr, Arik Levy, Lottermann & Fuentes, Julian Mayor, Mehmet & Kazım, Bjarne Melgaard, Frank Nitsche, Serkan Sarıer, Sucuk & Bratwurst, Ali Emir Tapan, Defne Tesal, Tarık Töre and Yuşa Yalçıntaş.
The presentation includes a series of three different ice cream-themed bronze sculptures inspired by the Sucuk & Bratwurst collective’s love for Italian coffee and ice cream culture, as well as the artists’ design titled “Alien Chair”. As part of the exhibition, ice cream will be served at the venue by Vero Gelato.
Wim Delvoye’s series titled “Rorschach”, which is included in the Artweeks selection, reinterprets the visual richness of the Rorschach Test, which has become an important part of psychology and has inspired many artists, through sculpture, and radically revives and transforms the 19th century sculpture.
Ali Elmacı addresses the dilemma between good and evil, humanity and monstrosity in his painting series titled “You Are All Vampires, Including Me”. In this series, he questions the moral values and ethical beliefs of individuals. While the vampire figures represent a world where boundaries are unclear, the artist emphasizes the power dynamics and power struggles within society, economic inequalities and issues related to social class differences.
PİLEVNELİ’s Artweeks@Akaretler presentation can be viewed at Sıraevler No: 41 between November 3-16, 2023.
