PİLEVNELİ is sharing its Dolapdere venue with visitors through Viewing Room, starting from November 26, 2024. The exhibition opens all levels of the gallery, including office spaces, to the audience, featuring a selection of works from the gallery’s inventory by artists such as :mentalKLINIK, Bora Akıncıtürk, Rasim Aksan, Nevin Aladağ, Refik Anadol, Banu Anka, Nobuyoshi Araki, Lal Batman, Hüseyin Çağlayan, Johan Creten, Ali Elmacı, Daniel Firman, Mehmet & Kazım, Daniel Knorr, Arik Levy, Julian Mayor, Bjarne Melgaard, Frank Nitsche, Michael Sailstorfer, Serkan Sarıer, Tarık Töre, and Yuşa Yalçıntaş.
Viewing Room stands out as a compilation, featuring both previously exhibited works and pieces that have never been presented to the public before. Works by artists from various disciplines and generations come to life again through a dynamic arrangement spread across the venue. The exhibition employs a fluid display method where the works change at irregular intervals. This allows visitors to encounter new pieces and embrace different perspectives with each visit.
Throughout December, Viewing Room invites viewers to a gallery experience that transcends the confines of a traditional exhibition space, fully utilizing the spatial possibilities of PİLEVNELİ Dolapdere. The works are displayed across all floors of the gallery in a hybrid approach that blends traditional exhibition methods with the conditions of storage.
The featured works not only prompt reflection on the methods of art production and presentation but also carry with them the memory of their initial exhibitions. As they meet audiences anew in varying configurations, the pieces expand upon their original meanings and continue to unveil their timeless potential.
Viewing Room decodes the relationship between art, time, and space from an unorthodox lens. You can visit the exhibition at PİLEVNELİ until December 28.
